Story

The year is 2561. Having exhausted Earth’s natural resources, the remaining nations have pooled their resources to create the Intergalactic Nations Space Conservation Confederation. Their mission: environmental protection of the planets across the galaxies, preventing those planets from being exploited for their resources.

Prior to the formation of Intergalactic Nations Space Conservation Confederation, the intergalactic mining corporations have been self-regulatory. Leading to many corporations to taking advantage of the lack of governmental interference and regulations by creating shady business practices.

These mining corporations have been engaging in disputes amongst themselves: chasing rival corporations off claimed planets in order to exploit the resources for themselves. They have no consideration for the indigenous population nor the native unique fauna that exists on these planets. The vastness of space leads to much lawlessness and unscrupulous methods to gain the coveted resources no matter the cost.  They later sell these resources for profit. After decades of skirmishes amongst themselves, one mining corporation has come out on top as the victor: Dirty Depths Mineral Ventures Mining Corporation (DDMVMC Pty Ltd).

Bizanti, a newly discovered planetary system has revealed several planets rich with untapped resources. All ripe for the picking with INSCC and DDMVMC racing each other to lay claim on those planets first.

The race between Intergalactic Nations Space Conservation Confederation and Dirty Depths Mineral Ventures Mining Corporation is on.

Who will ultimately prevail?

Characters

Supreme Warlord Nomru

Supreme Warlord Nomru is the commander of the private army owned by Dirty Depths Mineral Ventures Mining Corporation.

Once a valued soldier under Chief Marshal Vallo's command, Nomru was noted for his ambition and unwavering determination. He is now better known as the Supreme Warlord for Dirty Depths Mineral Ventures Mining Corporation.

It was his ambition that led to his discharge with dishonour for insubordination, and the bitter rivalry between the two men. His dishonourable discharge saw an embittered Nomru who had a bitter taste in his mouth, disappearing without a trace for several years.

His discharge was a result of his vehement disagreement with the Chief Marshal's decision, to open negotiations with an inhabited planet. He believed they should have taken the planet by force, so that INSCC may use its riches to fund and improve the out-dated inferior technology they were using. He questioned Vallo's worthiness as a military leader, which ended his military career.

Nomru has now his return as the Supreme Warlord of the mining corporation's private army. He is determined to prove not only he is the better military leader than Vallo, but to drive his point that INSCC will never achieve their goals without having the funding or ruthlessness to back it up.

With a “take no prisoners” mentality, he will do whatever it takes to achieve the mission; earning a reputation for being merciless and his methods being seen as ‘brutal’ and “unethical”’. What others saw as inhumane or brutal, he sees as “efficiency”. He firmly believes that “the end justifies the means”.

Chief Marshal of Planetary Defences and Conservation Vallo

Chief Marshal of Planetary Defences and Conservation Vallo is commander of the Intergalactic Nations Space Conservation Confederation army. Vallo is well-known for his skill as a military tactician. He has issued a standing order: if any planet tagged for conservation is discovered to have an intelligent alien life form inhabiting it, to create diplomatic relations with the native species and open talks for conserving and protecting the planet’s environment and resources.

This standing order and his decision to open negotiations with an inhabited planet that acted as the catalyst to his and Nomru's rivalry.

Deeply aware of the major disadvantage INSCC has due to reliance on outdated technology, has led Vallo to rely on diplomacy and avoiding conflict whenever possible. If a conflict is unavoidable, he employs his vast knowledge regarding military tactics and strategies to negate the technological disadvantage as much as he can.

He despises how DDMVMC operates believing their methods to be barbaric, and needlessly cruel. He believes the corporation should cease operations or forced to comply the regulations set by INSCC. He believes those who work for the mining corporation should be held accountable for their actions in the court of law. He feels responsible for the crimes committed by Nomru. He feels he is duty-bound to arrest and bring Nomru to justice as a result of his guilt.
